For this reason we are committed to the design, construction and operation of high quality leisure, entertainment and recreational attractions in tourist destinations throughout Ontario and the Canadian marketplace such as family focused amusement and theme parks, restaurants and accommodations.
Storyland
Opened in 1966 and joining the Great North Parks family in 2008, Storyland Amusement Park has been a family tradition for more than four decades, entertaining children and parents with all their favourite storybook characters. We have started an extensive 'reinventing' of this property by adding new attractions to the long standing classics and expanding the age spectrum this park appeals to. When phase one is complete in 2012 the park will be a regional destination drawing families from across the province while still retaining a strong local identity.
The Path Ahead
Great North Parks is working on a variety of projects for the future including two new themed attractions for Eastern Ontario which are currently in the planning stage. We are also currently exploring opportunities to acquire or develop small to medium sized accommodations properties in tourist oriented communities with the goal of bringing such a property to market within five years.
